“Yuki-Wa” is a pattern representing snow crystals.

In spring, snow becomes meltwater which helps plants and animals to grow. In Japan, snow is thought of as “the spirit of the five grains (rice, wheat, varieties of millet, and beans),” that is, something essential for the production of staple foods. The Yuki-Wa pattern expresses this richness and has often been used both for kimono and for obi, the sash worn with kimono.

We updated the traditional Yuki-Wa pattern into a more stylish modern one, and have paired it with cotton twill cloth. Handcrafted bags and household items for everyday use. We hope that using our handcrafted items will enrich the quality of your daily life.

Our first collection is the Ryu-Sui Series.

The pattern called Ryu-Sui expresses a stream of water, and this motif is frequently seen on kimonos.

Water is essential for all living things. The flowing water pattern meant to bring happiness and health to people who wear it, and it also signifies congratulations.

*In the term “Ryu-Sui,” “Sui” means water. The word “Sui” can also be pronounced “Mizu.”

Mizu is a word that has important meanings in Japanese.

We have a saying “Mizu ni Nagasu,” which means ‘let bygones be bygones’ or ‘forgive and forget.’  Another saying, “Mizu de Kiyomeru” means ‘to purify body and spirit with water.’ The Ryu-Sui pattern contains a wish that one can let bygones be bygones and will move forward turning over a new leaf, even after experiencing any misfortunes.
